Cordyceps sinensis is only one of more than 190 kinds of cordyceps in China, mainly produced on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, also referred to as “Cordyceps”. Cordyceps sinensis is the complex of the ovary and larval body of the ergot fungus Cordyceps sinensis parasitized on the larvae of the Batmoth family insects. Its main active ingredients are cordycepin, cordyceps acid, cordyceps polysaccharide and other substances beneficial to human absorption. It has the effects of tonifying the kidney and essence, relieving cough and resolving phlegm, and tonifying the lung.
